Designer and Creative Director
In 2008, Jalene dared to dream big, establishing Jalene Kanani Inc. The company became a crucible for her creativity, specializing in commercial carpeting and flooring through ProSPEC contract fabric. Here, she honed her skills and refined her distinctive aesthetic. Inspired, she envisioned transcending tribal prints beyond flooring, venturing into unexplored realms of Hawai'i's interior industry.
The realization of her dreams took form in 2018 with the launch of NOHO HOME, a line of bedding adorned with her distinguished patterns. Yet, this marked merely the starting point for Jalene Kanani. The realm of coastal home decor beckoned with promises of new textiles and product developments, propelling her to greater heights of success.
Jalene, rooted in her Hawaiian heritage, infuses her designs with the essence of her culture and the natural beauty surrounding her. Her artistic vision, characterized by a profound appreciation for depth, texture, and organic patterns, challenges the conventional notion of "tropical." Steering clear of clichés like shabby beach chic, her creations evoke a sophisticated island aesthetic, paying homage to her upbringing as a native Hawaiian amidst the enchanting landscapes of Hawai'i.
For Jalene, home is more than walls; it's an emotion—a sensation of safety and comfort curated within a space resonating with her unique artistic spirit. As she carves her path in the design world, Jalene Kanani's journey into coastal home decor unfolds like a mesmerizing tapestry, interweaving the threads of tradition, creativity, and the boundless beauty of her Hawaiian heritage.
